For individuals that have given birth before, most childbirth classes can be very repetitive. And that is nothing against the class or the instructor, but first time parents and second time parents have different questions and would like different information!
This is another one of the greatest benefits of our private birth classes: we are able to customize the information taught so that you can learn what you need to learn, and not sit through hours of information you have already learned or already experienced.
Refresh on Labor Process
Since you already experienced labor, you may remember some parts of the labor process. But, you may have also forgotten some aspects (hello birth brain). It can be helpful to review the labor process for both you and your partner, so you are both prepared (again). After all, each pregnancy and each birth is different, so there is no telling how your next birth could go.
Review of Comfort Measures
Sometimes people may want to change up their comfort measures for their second birth. Whether it is to add or decrease amount of pain medication, labor at the home or the birthing location more, or just have a quick review of the comfort measures, we can do that! With our class topics being customized, you can go over whatever you need to review and practice again!
TOFLAC and VBAC Options In The Triangle
Second time parents may need to learn about trial of labor after a cesarean (TOFLAC) or vaginal birth after a cesarean (VBAC). We have entire section devoted to what a vaginal birth could look like after a previous cesarean to help educate our clients on different important aspects to consider.
Sibling Integration
Now that you will be a family of four, we can help teach you how to integrate your two children together! We also can add on a section where one of our doulas works directly with your big kid to help them learn about their new role. (This can also be a standalone class if you are interested!)
