Personalize Workouts

All exercise sessions are tailored to meet your specific goals related to movement in your pregnant or postpartum body.

After discussing these goals, we can identify which muscles need strengthening and which, if any, need to be loosened up with stretching, fascial release techniques or a mind-body release technique. We can also include cardio and balance training if needed or desired. 

Various Sessions Available

Functional Movement Training: This kind of training aims to improve strength with normal everyday movements such as squatting, stairs, pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, and carrying. It can be done with bodyweight, or have added weight, such as dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands, or manual resistance. This type of training includes postural strengthening that can be very helpful for improving pelvic and low back discomfort during pregnancy, and reducing muscle tension and fatigue with nursing and carrying a baby postpartum. It’s also very helpful for relieving upper back and neck pain from computer posture. Functional movement training sessions include circuit training, where a set of 2-3 exercises will be done 2-3 times before moving on to the next circuit. This allows “active rest” time for the muscle group you just worked on while you target a different muscle group without wasting session time.

Fusion Mat Session: A combination of fluid movements inspired by yoga, pilates, fascial release and physical therapy. This type of session can be adapted to be done on a mat on the floor, a massage table or a chair depending on client comfort and ability. These sessions include full body strengthening, stretching, and cues for breathing to facilitate release of tension and stress.

Combination Movement and Massage: You will choose either a 30 minute Functional Movement Training session or 30 minute Fusion Mat Session followed by 30 minutes of manual stretching or 30 minutes of targeted massage therapy
