The transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENs) unit provides drug free pain relief during all stages of labor by using the Gate Theory of Pain as it theorized to reduce the perception of pain felt by the birthing person. By providing additional stimuli, the brain gets distracted from the feelings of labor.
TENs unit is also extremely helpful for those who experience back labor or other lower back pain that is common during labor in your birthing location for early labor, active labor, and for postpartum recovery.
Timeline for Rental
At contract signing: You will receive a link to our TENs unit class that will teach you how to use the unit and how it will benefit you during labor. 72 hour notice required prior to unit being available for mail or pick up.
37 weeks: Your TENs unit will be available pick up at our South Durham office.
6 week rental term: You will have your TENs unit to use for labor, birth and immediate postpartum.
