About this Fund
The Community Doula Fund is intended to offset the cost of birth and/or postpartum doula services. As contributions to the fund are entirely at the discretion of donations from the community, whether monetary or unused postpartum hours, our resources are finite and we are doing our best to provide care to as many families as possible within our given means.
Because funding is limited to donations, we have an application process in place so that we can best serve the community and manage clients in a timely manner. We appreciate your understanding in this process, and we are happy to answer any questions you may have. All applicants will receive confirmation of application receipt and the status of their application within 7 business days of application.
About our Services
Our birth doulas support families in teams of two, providing 24/7 shared on call support from the day you sign. In two prenatal meetings, your doulas will discuss your ideal birth experience and preferences for labor and delivery; details of you chosen birth location; signs and symptoms of the labor process; comfort measures and coping mechanisms; and planning for the postpartum period. Once labor begins, they can join you at home or at your birth location whenever you decide you would like hands-on support and will stay through 1-2 hours after delivery. Once you transition home, the doula that attended your birth will arrange a postpartum visit within two weeks.
Our birth support package is $1600.
Our postpartum doulas provide both daytime and overnight assistance throughout the fourth trimester. Day shifts are typically 4-6 hours and involve everything from general newborn care to help with light household tasks. Nighttime shifts are 8-10 hours on average and focus on helping families get more sleep, with doulas executing household tasks at the start and end of each shift and largely infant feeding and sleep support overnight.
Our postpartum support is $38/hour.
